Landbased
At Rodbaston College, our landbased college based in Penkridge, we offer a number of part-time courses and short courses in areas such as Agriculture, Animal Care, Arboriculture, Countryside Conservation, Equine and Vet Nursing.
We offer NPTC certified training for equipment in the landbased sector. City & Guilds National Proficiency Tests Council (NPTC) qualifications lead to nationally recognised certificates of competence and are ideal for those in industry or those wishing to further their skills and knowledge.
Landbased working includes a wide range of skills such as arboriculture, farming, horticulture and environmental. It covers the wellbeing of plants, trees, animals and habitats, and includes having to use a wide selection of equipment from handheld to ride on. The landbased sector is known to have the highest rate of accidents, some of which can lead to fatal or serious injuries, and the most common cause is related to the use of machinery.
Onsite courses run from our Rodbaston College, where we also use the local woodland area and work closely with local authorities.
The short courses department works closely with the college’s apprenticeship team to be able to offer courses for apprentices as well as external companies.
