    This qualification is designed for electricians with relevant Level 3 Electrotechnical qualifications who are seeking to pursue Continuing Professional Development (CPD), acquire new skills, and deepen their knowledge of initial and periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations.

  • Required qualifications

    Learners must be competent electricians and have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification that enables ECS Gold Card registration. Learners will also have a BS 7671: 2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition) qualification.

    This qualification equips you with the knowledge and practical skills needed to perform professional inspection and testing of electrical installations. It is designed to help learners understand the principles, practices, and legislation related to the initial verification and periodic inspection of electrical installations, in line with statutory and non-statutory regulations and requirements. The content provides the foundational knowledge needed to support the application of skills in inspecting, testing, commissioning, and certifying electrical installations.

    Learners could study the City & Guilds Level 3 Award in the design and installation of domestic and small commercial electric vehicle charging installations (2921-31), electrical energy storage systems (EESS) or solar photovoltaic systems (solar panels).
