Is this course for you?

All professional persons working with pesticides must be competently trained in their safe use and in some cases it is a legal requirement to have a certificate. This course is designed for all persons using a knapsack sprayer or other handheld equipment to spray chemicals onto an area. You will be trained in the safe handling and application of pesticides.
What skills will I develop?

This course is broken into two areas you will need to cover.

PA1 is an online test covering:
- Legal requirements
- Record keeping
- Safe disposal
- Environmental issues
PA6 is a practical assessment covering:
- Legal and safety regulations
- Interpreting product information
- Calibrating equipment
- Use equipment safely
- Post use checks
Careers

Future courses could be the PA2 tractor mounted boom sprayer.
Other important information

You must be a minimum of 16 years old. Equipment and PPE will be provided by the college for the purpose of training and assessment.

This work is partly based outdoors so appropriate clothing should be worn.
